MTG The Hobbit Pre-release

Join us on a Journey there, and back again, as we return to Middle Earth to celebrate "The Hobbit".

Join Bilbo’s adventure of a lifetime with Dwarves to befriend, Trolls to trick, Elves to outwit, and songs to sing. There's gold or dragon’s fire at the end, so enjoy the journey!

Format: Sealed Pre-Release, 40 Minute Deck Build, 3 Rounds, 50 Min Rounds each, No Top Cut

Contents of Pre-Release kits include:

• 6 "The Hobbit" Play Boosters
• 1 traditional foil rare/mythic rare card
• Spindown™ life counter

*In the event that we run out of pre-release kits, players may still participate in the event using six Play booster packs.

EVENT FORMAT

Unlike constructed games, where you arrive with a strategically created deck, Sealed games have you build a new deck from six unopened booster packs. Additionally, you may add as many basic lands (Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, and Forests) as you’d like, even if they weren’t in the booster packs you opened.

At the conclusion of deck building, players will take part in a three-round Swiss tournament. The first round will consist of random pairings from the players in attendance. Each round after that will be based on the previous round’s results.

Smaug is away, and his hoard lies unguarded! Deep beneath the Lonely Mountain, gold and jewels shimmer in the dark, untouched for decades. The dragon has taken to the skies, and for a fleeting moment, his treasure is anyone's to claim. Slip past the ash and bones littering the cavern floor, reach into the glittering pile, and see what fortune finds its way into your hands!

#2 Coin: A handful of riches - earn 2 Play booster packs! 

#3 Coin: Now you're plundering like a true burglar - earn 3 Play booster packs! 

#4 Coin: A dragon's ransom - earn 4 Play booster packs! 

Mithril Coin: Rarer than gold, lighter than silver, tougher than steel - earn a Collector Booster pack! 

The Arkenstone: The King's Jewel itself - you’ve won the Play Booster Box! 

But beware! The deeper you dig, the louder the gold shifts beneath your feet. Grab your treasure and get out before the dragon returns! 

PRIZING

Participate in our Into The Dragon’s Lair side event for the chance of winning up to four additional play booster packs, a Collector Booster Pack, OR the Grand Prize - a Hobbit Play Booster Box! All prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the event. A Collector Booster Pack is added to Smaug’s hoard for every ten players in the event.
